Scan2Encrypt can be used to scan physical documents, but the application's key feature is its encryption capabilities. Once it scans your documents, it will store them as a single secure PDF, with limited permissions. The application provides you with many useful options, which give you full control over your scanned documents.

The software is free to try for a limited period of time. You can use it on all modern Windows versions and you can install it without any effort. The hardware requirements are modest and there is no need to install any supplementary tools.

Obviously, you need to have a scanner connected to your computer if you want to use Scan2Encrypt, but the interesting part is that is works with a webcam as well. When launched, the application will present a large graphical representation of the scanning process, which you have to click to get started. Alternatively, you can open a general settings panel, in which you can select a different source device and make other tweaks.

Once it stops scanning, the application will take you through a series of adjustment options, step by step, just like a wizard. You can align the scanned document or picture if it looks crooked, disable various permissions, like copying text, printing and more. Furthermore, the software allows you to choose from three output methods. You can save the PDF in a local folder of your choice, send it to someone by email or upload it to Dropbox. It should also be mentioned that Scan2Encrypt can protect your documents with the AES 256-bit encryption protocol, so you don't need to worry about anything.

Pros

The software can encrypt documents, right after scanning them. It can be used with a scanner or with a webcam. Besides saving the scanned documents, the software can also send them by email or upload them to the cloud.

Cons

There are no obvious issues to mention. Physical documents and pictures can be scanned and protected as fast as possible when using Scan2Encrypt.
